Three Card Spread

Three Card Spread

Greetings Tarot Fans!

While I was away, I was definitely having issues getting you the daily reading. While on the first two days I managed to post using my phone, this became impractical when I realized that a Spindle Tarot of the Day was eating 60% or more of my available battery life. Wanting to make sure that I could post pics of festival itself, as well as maintain enough of a charge for emergencies, etc… I opted to ‘hold’ until I returned to Dayton. Having made that decision, I also decided I would give you a 3-card reading when I got back using the same three cards that would have been presented during that time. This will allow those who follow along to ‘compare and contrast’ the daily messages to the events that actually occurred over those three days.

The first card in the reading, the Saturday card, was the Seven of Swords. This card represents the positive mental habits of a natural winner. The image most often associated with this card is that of a stealthy warrior who has infiltrated the enemy camp on the eve of a fateful battle to check out their preparations and steal their swords. Such a move is guaranteed to demoralize the enemy and undermine their performance in the upcoming confrontation. This card tells you to work smarter, not harder. Think long and deep, study all the angles and put yourself in the shoes of your competition. As a result, you will have such a thorough grasp of the whole situation that there will be no surprises — and no excuses for anything but success. Deep within, you already know exactly what has to happen, what steps to take, and what order to take them in to bring about a desirable outcome in this situation. You may have enough of an overview to see how to advance through the maze and achieve your goal. Continue to envision unobstructed success.(On Saturday, we did the annual MayPole, weaving magick as we danced in a maze of string, creating beauty, love, and laughter along the way).

Next, the Sunday card was the Queen of Wands”. Traditionally, this card represents a woman appearing in your life who is a natural manager, whose gift is to inspire teamwork and divvy up tasks. She is the one who sees ensures everything runs smoothly. She’ll be sweating in the sun along with her family or crew, inspiring everybody to keep up and supporting morale with her infectious energy. She is the best kind of manager to have, because she is like a challenging but encouraging mother, who knows you have it in you. She believes in her charges and they work hard to please her. She is not, however, sentimental. Like a good farmer, she views her crops, her animals, even the people who work for her, as necessary resources for the achievement of the higher goal. (On Sunday, we packed up our entire camp and booth space in 8 hours, which sounds like a long time until you see the pictures of our camp and booth and consider the 90+ degree weather). This card asks you to realize that you are not in a leadership role quite yet. Concentrate on a more supportive role that promotes the overall objectives. Stay focused and energetic. Enthusiastically confront the challenges directly in front of you. Perform in good faith and encourage others to do the same. In this way, you are preparing yourself for the leadership role that you are working toward.

The Temperance card is a reference to the soul. This card is mixing up a blend of subtle energies for the evolution of the personality. It hints at the process of tempering metals in a forge. Just a metals must undergo extremes of temperature, folding, and pounding, so must we be forged and honed because the end product is infinitely superior to impure ore mined that comes straight from the earth. The soul volunteers the ego for a cleansing and healing experience, which may turn the personality inside-out, but which brings out the gold hidden within the heart. It also suggests a reduction of overindulgent behaviors. If you are eating, drinking, or ‘lazing’ too much, now is the time to reign it in. Marshal your known skills and abilities and do what needs to be done to complete your mission. Prepare to use spiritual practices, studies, or lifestyle changes that can assist you in your quest. A tremendous amount of benefit is available if you can organize yourself and be disciplined at this time. (In thirty years, I have rarely had a festival that activated my magick as this one did. The people, land, and energy were all highly charged and offered many insights and blessings, thus cementing further the mission that I have been called to walk.)

Let me know how this reading compares to your holiday weekend! I am curious how many of you can relate to this opportunity to compare readings  with events in reverse order. As always, may you find that your feet and your heart are on the path to enlightenment and that you are surrounded by acceptance and love. Bright Blessings!
