Today’s card is the King of Cups, also known as Chalices. Since Cups is the suit of the emotions (Water), this card usually portrays a watery background with a man seated on a throne, holding the Cup of Mystery in his hand. Occasionally, his cup is glowing like the mouth of a volcano, emanating light but never boiling over. As with all the court cards, this King of Water can represent an actual person appearing in your life at this time to help you control your emotions and put them in perspective. The man in this card doesn’t need to speak to communicate strength, passion and commitment, though, because it emanates from his being. He is a master of his emotions; intense and intuitive, he is a force to be reckoned with. Some may even see him as a priest or shaman for his wisdom in the metaphysical arts. Water is also the element of the Moon and this King can appear when secrets or mysteries are on the verge of being revealed.
If this card is not an actual person in your life then it is telling you that it is your turn to support others with your strength and wisdom. Closely examine your conscience and bring your personal mission into alignment with what is best for everyone. You can then step into your community or situation with integrity and an ability to communicate the highest wisdom. As this sweetens your ‘environment’, others will be inspired to raise their own motives and intentions to match yours. You will be providing an important kind of leadership that uses strong reassurance to help everyone work together. The most persuasive thing about you is the example of generous behavior that you exhibit — much more powerful than preaching alone.
Today, may you embrace your leadership skills and put them to use for all to see and mirror!
