Today’s card is the Justice card, number eleven of the Major Arcana. This card is often called Karma in some of the more modern tarot decks and has to do with moral sensitivity and that which gives rise to empathy, compassion, and a sense of fairness. This image represents a standard for the humane and fair-minded treatment of other beings. Often including the image of a scale which helps to balance competing needs against the greater good, and a two-edged sword to symbolize the precision needed to make clear judgments, to cut through the crap. This card reminds us to be careful to attend to important details. It’s a mistake to overlook or minimize anything where this card is concerned. It advises us to ‘ever mind the rule of three’; if not, we are in danger of becoming a victim of our own selfish attitudes and choices.
This card tells us that we are currently being seen as a fair-minded party whose opinion matters. The Justice card advises you to listen carefully as others explain their version of events and the parts they played. Initially, it is unnecessary to offer feedback. Your role is to observe; listen closely, give a full hearing, and keep your wits about you as the story takes shape. Avoid facial expressions and body language that imply judgement or a predetermined opinion. As you witness people’s account of themselves, your understanding of their situation will go beyond the words you hear. Subtle inferences and clues will reveal the truths that enable you to make a wise and accurate assessment. Only then can you offer any advise or wisdom that is being sought, if any, in this exchange of information. Often, acting a a mirror to others’ thoughts, ideas, and stories allows them to verbalize/externalize those thoughts into the physical world where they can be manifested.
Today, may you benefit from a Karmic gift brought on by your good past choices. May the Fires of Beltane burn bright for you this evening and always!
